I started my internship on Monday and haven't quite gotten used to getting up early. As some of you know I've been having problems sleeping for quite a long time, so it's really difficult just dragging myself out of bed each morning. But, that aside, I've been getting up and going to work each day this week. So far at work I haven't really done any technical writing, which is what I was hired for.
I work out of my supervisor's office and have been given a small laptop to work on. It seems to work fine, but as I said, I have mostly been doing inventory and databasing, instead of any actual writing. I am hoping that in the future I will get to do some, as my job description was comprised primarily of such work. Plus I'm not sure how my internship supervisor at school will feel about it when I report to her that all I've done is inventory catalogues and work on spreadsheets for four straight days. Looks like I'll be doing that tomorrow as well.
Interestingly, one of the women I work with is married to a guy I used to date. It's all rather awkward for me, but she doesn't seem to be phased by it at all, which is good for her. I am not one of those people who is good at being friends with past boyfriends, and frankly I don't want to be. So when he shows up and tries to be all friendly, I find it rather uncomfortable.
Anyway, as I may have mentioned before, I am also working my regular job this summer, which gives me a 40 hour work week. It's quite nice to be busy all the time, although I wouldn't mind taking a break very soon. Luckily it's almost Friday. I was just telling Phil last night that it's nice to be busy during the day and not at night. What I mean is that I don't have any homework and it's nice to have the time off and do nothing. I would much rather be busy all day than be bored all day. Sometimes I'm good at finding things to occupy my time, but other days not so much.
So that's what's going on with me. Thought you all might like to know.

Sod (see previous post) is easy to plant and establish, but kind of hard work, if that makes any sense. Make sure the ground is raked smooth, roll it out, mash it down with a roller from the rental place, and water the heck out of it.
